Hawley to McCaskill: Condemn the Democrats’ obstructionist tactics at Kavanaugh hearings
COLUMBIA, Mo. – U.S. Senate candidate Josh Hawley is calling on Senator McCaskill to condemn the Democrats’ obstructionist strategies at Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings. As Politico reports, for weeks Democrat Senators “weighed the drastic protest measures,” and eventually “settled on a middle ground: disruption.”
“Senator McCaskill should condemn this nonsense, and condemn this outrageous behavior from her colleagues,” Hawley said of their strategy at the hearings. “She should call on Chuck Schumer and the Democrats to treat this process with dignity, to give Judge Kavanaugh a fair hearing – and call on them to support Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination. That’s what the people of this state voted for in 2016.”
Of note, the Democrats’ hearing strategy was organized by Senator McCaskill’s party boss, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
