McCaskill Abandons Ally, Refuses to Fight Fringe Elements of Her Party
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Senator Claire McCaskill is refusing to endorse her long-time ally, Congressman Lacy Clay, in is his primary fight against an avowed, insurgent Democratic Socialist.
“Claire McCaskill would rather side with a radical, self-pronounced Socialist over her own colleague and friend of 30 years — because she’s just that liberal,” said Josh Hawley. “Senator McCaskill has even said there are ‘many issues’ she would agree with Ocasio-Cortez on. That’s alarming. Ocasio-Cortez has attacked Israel, supports abolishing ICE, and believes health care should be taken over by the government. Senator McCaskill’s willingness to support a Socialist over her friend shows just how out of touch she is with Missouri and that she doesn’t have the guts to stand up to the most extreme branch of her party.”
